The Statale for Peace 2026 – Closing Event
The closing event of The Statale for Peace 2026 (2nd edition) will take place on 26 October 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Aula Magna of the University of Milan. The event will open with institutional greetings from Silvia Romani (Vice-Rector for Third Mission), followed by interventions from Roberto Cornelli (University of Milan Delegate for Teaching, Research and Third Mission on issues of peace and social justice, and University representative for RuniPace – Italian Universities Network for Peace), Cristina Cattaneo (Professor of Forensic Medicine and Anthropology and Head of Labanof-MUSA, University of Milan), Monica Massari (Professor of Sociology of Memory, Global Society and Rights, and Comparative Social Systems) and Laura Scarabelli (Professor of Hispanic American Literatures). From different perspectives, they will address issues related to migration, peace, memory, and violence.
The event will conclude with Lorenzo Maragoni, poet, performer and world poetry slam champion, who will present Poesie per situazioni di emergenza (“Poems for Emergency Situations”), a performance in which poetry creates a space for listening and sharing.
