The Greatest Escape in Our History. 10 Years of the Prison Project at the University of Milan

On November 18, the event “The Greatest Escape in Our History” will be held in the Aula Magna of the University of Milan. It will be an opportunity to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Prison Project, launched to promote the right to education in Lombard prisons, and today the largest University Prison Hub in Europe

After the institutional greetings, there will be an initial review of the project’s first decade and a presentation of its activities, introduced by Professor Stefano Simonetta (Vice-Rector for Student Services and Right to Education, University Representative for the Prison Project) and the staff of the Prison Project Office (Dr. Giulia Di Donato, Dr. Chiara Dell’Oca, Dr. Caterina Lusiani). This will be followed by roundtable discussions involving professors and students (both incarcerated and non-incarcerated) to explore the themes of teaching, learning, and tutoring in prison.
