War and Civilization: History, Science, Politics

The EDEN Seminar (Ethics, Law, Normative Economics) entitled “War and Civilization: History, Science, Politics” is announced on the occasion of the publication of Gianluca Sadun Burdoni’s book, “War and Human Nature: The Roots of Global Disorder.”
The event is organized by Politeia – Centre for Research and Training in Politics and Ethics, in collaboration with the Department of Social and Political Sciences and the Department of Legal Studies “Cesare Beccaria” of the University of Milan.
The seminar will explore the possibilities of overcoming the supposed inevitability of war, examining the relationship between war and science, as well as the contribution that science can offer to understanding the causes of conflict. It will also address the inseparable link between war and civilization, which reveals its complexity particularly in times of war.
