Prisons Narratives and Dystopias: Presentation of Pietro Buffa’s book
The book presentation of Pietro Buffa’s “Narrazioni e distopie penitenziarie” (“Prisons Narratives and Dystopias”) will take place on January 28, 2025, in Ricci Hall, Piazza San Fedele 4.

Francesco Maisto – Ombudsman for the Rights of Persons Deprived of Personal Liberty in the Municipality of Milan
Roberto Cornelli – Full Professor of Criminology at the University of Milan
The book addresses the topic of prisons and the narratives that represent them, some of which significantly influence public opinion and political decision-makers. The Author particularly focuses on union demands and their capacity to guide and support reforms that ultimately detach the penitentiary system from the constitutional meaning of punishment, especially in a historical period of strong turmoil that should, on the contrary, push towards the affirmation of constitutional principles in the daily workings of the prison system.
