Online event: let’s defend the UN!
On 26th June 2025, to mark the 80th anniversary of the United Nations Charter (1945–2025), an online event will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. titled “Stop the Destruction of International Law and Legality – Defend the UN! It Is Essential to Prevent World War III”.
The event, promoted by the PerugiAssisi Foundation for a Culture of Peace and the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padua, aims to reaffirm the fundamental principles enshrined in 1945 by a group of international leaders who, emerging from the horrors of war, signed the Charter to “save succeeding generations from the scourge of war”.
Today, in the face of a deep crisis of legality and international law and a global coup against the UN, the initiative seeks to amplify the urgent appeal of 268 former United Nations officials to defend the Charter and the UN's multilateral framework.
The event is part of a broader extraordinary mobilization for peace, culminating on 12th October 2025, with the UN Assembly of Peoples and the PerugiAssisi Peace March.
