Immigration and Juvenile Delinquency: The Construction of Fear

On Wednesday, May 13 at 5:30 PM, the final event in the New Generations, Emerging Challenges series will take place: “Immigration and Juvenile Delinquency: The Construction of Fear.”

In a Western society shaped by an aging population and increasingly security-focused narratives, immigration is often discussed through stereotypes and distorted perceptions. This event instead offers an opportunity for thoughtful discussion grounded in rigorous analysis and critical reflection, aimed at exploring the true complexity of the issue and moving beyond oversimplified views.

Speakers will include Roberto Cornelli, Full Professor of Criminology at the University of Milan, and Livia Molinari of Scuola Binari – Rete Scuole senza permesso. The event will be introduced by Andrea Varani (CFB – UFN). A discussion and multicultural aperitif will follow.

Admission is free. Participants will also receive a certificate of attendance issued by O.P.P.I. – a Third Sector Organization accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIM).
